LGMA NSW Management Excellence Awards

 

Introduction

 

There is an expectation for local government bodies to provide quality services and to be accountable to their local community. As part of the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement in local government, Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA) NSW celebrates its annual LGMA NSW Awards each year at the LGMA Annual Conference. These Awards were established to recognise outstanding and innovative achievements by local government managers and professionals.

 

The LGMA (NSW) is the peak body for local government professionals and managers.  It seeks to ensure the organisation and its members are industry leaders and are at the forefront of good practice, change, innovation and the continuous improvement of local government.  The goal of the Association is to provide advocacy, leadership, learning and support for members.  It represents and supports professional practice by upholding a code of ethics and assists its members with a range of products and services.

 

The LGMA NSW Excellence are one of the most prestigious events in the local government sector, and a prominent feature of the LGMA NSW’s Annual Conference. It is an opportunity for the Association to recognise local government professionals and to celebrate excellence.

 

 

The Aim of the Awards

 

The aim of the the LGMA NSW Excellence Awards are to:

 

  •  raise the standard and quality of the local government profession;
  •  create public awareness of the level of expertise and excellence in the local government profession and;
  •  share, promote and inform the LGMA NSW membership about local government initiatives and achievements.

 

 

Objectives of the LGMA NSW Excellence Awards

 

The specific objectives of the LGMA NSW Excellence Awards are to:

 

  • recognise LGMA NSW members and their teams for their local government management initiatives and achievements;
  • recognise excellence and best practice in the local government profession and;
  • recognise excellence in management, young professionals, rural shires, governance, sustainability and community services.
