LGMA NSW is now offering a Membership package called the LGMA NSW Capacity Building Package. This package provides your Council staff access to econnect as well as the LGMA NSW Good Practice Toolkit.

 

LGMA NSW Econnect

 

Econnect is LGMA NSW’s online elearning service consisting of eBooks, that will help increase the understanding and skills of your staff and stakeholders in implementing the new Integrated Planning and Reporting legislation. This service will support your staff and stakeholders in getting up to speed quickly and efficiently with access to the right information, tools and case studies.

 

The first eBook available is Integrated Planning and Reporting which includes four chapters:

 

  • What’s it all about?
  • The Community Strategic Plan
  • The Resourcing Strategy
  • The Delivery Program

 

These chapters are soon to be followed by two additional chapters on: The Operational Plan and Reviewing and Reporting.

 

Good Practice Toolkit

 

The Good Practice Toolkit (GPT) is a web based good practice tool made up of a number of modules. Each module represents an area of local government practice. For more information please visit the GPT website 

 

The purpose of the toolkit is to:

 

  • Build the capacity of Local Government;
  • Identify good practice;
  • Develop and enhance professional practice; and
  • Minimise risks and legal costs associated with non-compliance

 

The toolkit is being developed by the industry, for the industry. Each module is developed by a team of experts, with independent legal review. Access to Module content is available to subscribing Councils.
